From the Wilmington News Journal, Clinton County, Ohio
Mrs. George Flint takes her life with a knife Mrs. George Flint, aged about 35 took her own life Friday morning having slashed her throat with a Butch knife , it is stated to this paper. The Flints live on the S.G. Smith farm on the Stone Road west of Melvin Ohio, but last night Mrs. Flint had gone to the home of her brother-in-law, Charles Athey, on the McWilliams farm, not far from Reeseville, and it was there that she took her own life, according to the story told. No reason for the deed is given, unless her recent illness had affected her mind, but this is not positively known. It is stated that short time ago she was ill, but no motive for her act is known, it is said. She was the mother of five children it is said, and it was because a little girl was at Athey’s that she went there Thursday night, this paper is told. Corner Investigates Corner Kinzel was called to make an examination of the circumstances. He declares that she inflicted the fatal would in an outbuilding at the Athey home early this morning and he states that she probably did not live 30 seconds from the time she pressed the knife to her throat, in spite of the fact that the knife was not a sharp one. The officer understands that Mrs. Flint has been in ill health for some time and that she has been under the care of a Sabina physician and also a Port William physician during recent months. He understands that she made a similar but unsuccessful attempt on her life a week or more ago, her dead body was found by the Athey family possibly 15 minutes after she committed suicide. |
