"Dennis Cahill was born in Prince Georges Co., MD, according to one source. He was in Amwell Twp., Washington Co., PA in 1786. He was married to Diana Busey (various spellings) who was possibly the daughter of Samuel Busey (b. 1709).

Their son, Philip E. Cahill (b. 1768) married Mary McGuire (b. PA). This family moved from Washington Co., PA to Ohio in the early 1800s. They lived near Mt. Pleasant, OH, and later, northeast of Cadiz, OH, and eventually, Perry Twp., Carroll Co., OH. Philip became a member of the Methodist Episcopal church and was instrumental in the establishment of Mt. Tabor church and may be buried there along with his second wife, Ruth West."
