John Cahill

John Cahill b. 1796 in PA. He was the son of Philip Cahill and Mary McGuire.

John Cahill married Elizabeth Wiles,  November 14, 1818, in Jackson County Ohio.  (Marriage Record)

John and Elizabeth bought property from her uncle, Samuel Wiles, in Jackson County soon after they married.

John and Elizabeth lived in Jackson County the whole of their married lives.

Elizabeth Wiles Cahill died in 1863 and is buried at Sigler Cemetery, Jackson County, OH.

John Cahill remarried Lydia Boggs November 15, 1866 in Pike County, OH.

John Cahill died February 3, 1873 of complications of old age at age 76. He lived in Jefferson Township, Ross County, OH. He was a farmer at the time of his death. 

His wife, Lydia Boggs Cahill, was born in Gallia County, OH. She died December 25, 1872 of dropsy. 

On January 1, 1873, before he died, John he sold his property to his near neighbor, Charles Stockman. The sale was witnessed by Sydnie Boggs,  who I will assume is a daughter of his late wife, Lydia Boggs.  More research is needed to confirm this assumption.
